ReSound Hearing Aids
The company’s first hearing aid was released in 1947 under their original name, Danavox. After the acquisition of Danavox in 1977 by GN Store Nord, who also owns Beltone, the hearing aid manufacturer started producing hearing aids using the ReSound trademark, releasing their first hearing aid with digital processing in 1992.
Within GN Group, a leader in the worldwide distribution of hearing aids in 80 countries around the globe, ReSound works as an innovation leader, doing research and development related to medical, professional, and consumer audio products as well as helping to guide the manufacturing and distribution of various med-tech, hearables, and intelligent audio products.
ReSound’s guiding philosophy—“Rediscovering your hearing leads to a richer, more active and fulfilling lifestyle”—reflects the company’s commitment to delivering advanced hearing care solutions to their hearing aid users.
The ReSound AIR (2003) open-fit design, developed from the company’s open-standard digital chip technology, improved programming flexibility and delivered more natural sound while limiting the discomfort of a plugged ear canal.

Processing Technology by ReSound
To keep nature and science in balance, ReSound developed the concept of Organic Hearing, which mimics how sounds are naturally collected and delivered to your brain and is designed to work with the unique anatomy of your ear.
Developed from the concept of Organic Hearing, technologies like Digital Feedback Suppression (DFS),which eliminates issues with feedback (howling) and distortion, and Wide Dynamic Range Compression (WDRC), which allows users to select the sounds they want to hear and tone down the ones they don’t, help ReSound hearing aids deliver a whole, natural sound picture, allowing your hearing aids to fit your lifestyle.
