Sometimes certain medications can cause tinnitus to flare up, so it might be worth taking a note of all the medications you are currently taking to ensure nothing is making it worse.

Some of these include antibiotics, antidepressants, diuretics or cancer medication.

The prevalence of tinnitus also tends to increase with age, affecting 14.3% of people aged 60-69 years old.
